Last Saturday, I went to see The Beatles at Tuacahn!
Okay, so obviously it wasn't the real Fab Four...but it was a tribute band called The Fab Four, and they were awesomely close to the real thing. Go check them out!
Unfortunately, we didn't get to the Ivins area (where Tuacahn is located in Southern Utah) until after sunset. So, I didn't take pictures or video of the area, because it would've been dark and pointless. However, it is such a beautiful area, and I'm positive we'll be back. Hopefully soon!
Tuacahn is easily one of the most beautiful venues, ever. It's set up as an outdoor amphitheater with the stage nestled below the seats, so the view from anywhere in the house should be excellent. We were stage left and about five rows back, and our view was excellent!

Red rock surrounds the entire venue, making the backdrop gorgeous. Tuacahn is located out in the desert, distanced from the rest of the world. Driving away from the city, an amazing view accompanies you past communities of super nice houses and around a couple of easy roundabouts. Once you are out from the residential area, the road takes you back towards a corner of the canyon. There lies the little Tuacahn community, with its well accommodating parking lot, Center of Performing Arts, and the beautiful amphitheater.
I would describe the venue in more detail, but Tuacahn is a place you need to see and experience to really appreciate. They have concert performances, like the one we saw, but they also have musicals, if that's more your cup of tea. Check their schedule and make the trip - it is very well worth it!
Okay, now onto the show: The Fab Four. All I can say is...awesome! The whole Ed Sullivan bit got old by the time he came back for the Sgt. Pepper set, but that's my only complaint. Well, that, and the fact that they couldn't go on for another couple of hours. This is actually the second Beatles tribute band I've seen, and I must say, the Fab Four is probably the best. The resemblance was so uncanny, I had to do a few double takes. The voices, the physicality, the costumes, the chemistry between them...all of it was so reminiscent of the Beatles. And as if that wasn't enough, the guy who played George is actually from Liverpool!

This is a video that they took of the audience (from the Fab Four's YouTube). If you look closely, you can spot us in the very beginning and end (in the middle of the screen)!
It was such a fun time, and you can tell that the guys love what they do and really appreciate the music. At one point, "Paul's" bass strap came undone, but he played it off professionally. It actually sparked a cute moment between him and "George" during "With A Little Help From My Friends," when George went over and helped him strap back up. It was getting super chilly toward the end of the night, but they requested the audience get up a few times, keeping us involved and engaged throughout the show. The guys said they had been to Tuacahn the previous year and would love to come back next year. Okay, I'll be there!
We met the guys after the show, (they were really sweet and super friendly. And I quote my mom, "Aww, they're so cute!") and I don't know why, but I was super nervous! So, I didn't say much, just hi and then probably some awkward giggling accompanied with an uncomfortable face. But I did manage to mutter out a sweet, little "thank you!" to "George," and he replied with a "you're welcome, love!" in his accent. I swooned a little bit, not even going to lie. We took a quick picture and laughed later about the fact that my dad looks like he's creeping on "John" (he swore it only looks that way, and he didn't intend it to)...

We stopped for frozen yogurt because, even though it was even colder at that point, we're crazy. Luckily Krave was open till midnight! They have some unique flavors that I haven't seen anywhere else, like cotton candy. Yum, such a great way to end such a fantastically fun night!
We spent the night in St. George at the La Quinta at the edge of town. It was kind of confusing trying to find how to get there (my dad and roundabouts do NOT mix well), but the hotel itself is very nice. I loved our room, but I'm weird and appreciate things like a nice hotel room. Also free Wi-Fi. The view from our window was scenic; we were facing the nearby mountain and their little courtyard with a fountain and area for dogs (the hotel is dog friendly and we saw quite a few cuties)!
I definitely could have used some more much needed days away, but I guess just one will do. For now...
